The FBT widget pairs the active product with up to five complementary items in a single bundle the customer can add in one click — with an optional all-or-nothing discount applied through Shopify Functions. It's the highest-converting surface on the product page because it leverages bundle psychology: customers see the savings, the curated combination, and a single CTA that does the work of 4–5 individual Add-to-Cart events.

Three layouts ship out of the box. Each has a different visual personality and serves a slightly different shopper mindset — pick the one that matches your category and aesthetic.

Full-Width FBT

Premium retail

Multi-card horizontal carousel below the product description. Shows 2.5 cards on mobile and 4 on desktop, with arrows that appear automatically when the count exceeds the visible cards.

  • Native-looking layout in the H&M / Zara / premium retail style — feels like part of the product page, not an add-on.
  • Works seamlessly with Shopify Search & Discovery's related and complementary product lists.

Expected AOV impact: 8–15% AOV lift on fashion, home goods, and lifestyle brands. The horizontal scroll feels editorial rather than promotional, so click-through stays high.

Best for: Fashion, beauty, home decor — categories where 'shop the look' or 'complete the set' is a recognizable pattern.

Amazon FBT

Bundle

Side-by-side image strip with the trigger product included by default, joined by + separators. Total price + savings shown above a single Add-to-Cart button.

  • Immediately recognizable Amazon-style layout — zero learning curve for shoppers.
  • Total price and savings shown above the button so the value prop is unmissable.
  • Single Add-to-Cart adds the entire bundle in one click.
  • Trigger product is automatically included — bundle math is always coherent.

Expected AOV impact: 10–20% AOV lift on accessory-heavy categories. The 'all-in-one-click' flow eliminates 4–5 individual Add-to-Cart events that would otherwise create drop-off.

Best for: Electronics, kitchen, photography, and any category where buyers expect to need accessories (case + screen protector + charger, knife + sharpener + cutting board).

Classic FBT

Selectable

Vertical checklist of related products. Customers tick the ones they want, the live total updates, and one Add-to-Cart adds everything selected.

  • Customer controls the bundle composition — no forced adds.
  • Live total price updates as boxes are toggled.
  • Bundle discount recalculates automatically based on the selected subset.
  • Works well in narrow columns and on mobile.

Expected AOV impact: 10–18% AOV lift with selectable items. Conversion is higher than fixed bundles because hesitant buyers can opt into a smaller subset rather than abandoning the whole bundle.

Best for: Add-ons and accessories where each item has its own price tag — and where 'pick the ones you want' converts better than 'take the full kit'.

Selectable bundle items

Customers can deselect any product in Classic and Full-Width layouts before adding to cart. The discount automatically recalculates based on the selected subset. The Amazon layout is fixed — the bundle adds as a single unit.

Discount logic

FBT discounts are conditional: the discount only applies if all required bundle items are in cart at checkout. Customers see the savings live as they tick boxes, so the value of the bundle is visible before they commit.

How to install

  1. Create an FBT or Bundle campaign and pick the layout (Full-Width, Amazon, or Classic).
  2. Add the trigger product(s) and the bundle products (up to 5).
  3. Optionally enable a percentage or fixed discount — this creates a Shopify Function discount automatically.
  4. In the theme editor, add the matching block: Summer: FBT Bundle for Classic / Full-Width, or Summer: Bundle FBT for Amazon-style fixed bundles.
